NI Small Schools Cup

26th Apr 2024
Our u15 boys made history today as they became champions for the first time in the school's history. Two cup successes in consecutive weeks for the boys with the league decider to come next week.
SJBC started strong with captain Sean Hamill playing a pivotal role in defending the opposition side goal and starting attacks. With 15 minutes on the clock, Harry Greene weaved his way through the defence and slotted home to put us 1-0 up. The game ebbed and flowed before Harry Greene put us 2-0 up with a long range strike off his weaker foot from all of 30 yards.
2-0 at the break.
SJBC totally dominated the second half but failed to convert any of their chances. With 5 minutes remaining their opponents scored from a rare counter attack which set up a nervy end to the game. Brendan Ferreira was introduced towards the end to help the boys over the finishing line and become champions.
Every member of the squad played an important role in today’s victory, but a special mention to our midfield duo of Owen Reynolds and Connor Hamill who covered every inch of the pitch and added quality whenever it was required.
Champions again Allez Allez!! 💙💛🏆
